Dear Spartan Families, 

As usual, summer vacation has flown by much too quickly! I hope you have had an enjoyable, healthy, and restful break. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the 2022/2023 school year.  Our staff over the summer has attended one or more conferences to either become AVID certified, learn teaching strategies, and understand their curriculum.  The secretarial and custodial staff have been hard at work preparing our building for the new school year.  

Desert Star Academy Middle School will officially open for all teachers, teaching assistants, and aides the week of July 25th.  The first day of school is Monday, August 1, 2022 and Back to School Nights are scheduled for July 26th for families with the last name A-L and July 27th for families M-Z from 5:00pm to 6:00pm.  Please join us to help your scholar succeed this school year, learn more about AVID program, extra curricular activities and i-Ready, obtain your scholar's school schedule, meet their teachers and more.

There have been several changes to our staff, and some of our colleagues are new to our school and/or the community.  I know you will receive them warmly and join me in congratulating them and making them feel welcome to our school community.
